Amber Eswani
Amber Eswani is a Pakistani-American filmmaker, photographer, and marketing professional based in Chicago. With a passion for storytelling sparked by her grandfather’s bedtime tales, she began exploring photography in middle school and soon expanded into film and digital media during high school. She later earned a B.A. in Radio, Television, and Digital Media, laying the foundation for a multifaceted career in the visual arts.
As a writer, director, and producer, Amber’s work has been featured on PBS, Subtitle Magazine, the Beloit International Film Festival, and recognized multiple times by the Mid-America Emmys. Her recent short film, Fuzzy Legs - which explores body positivity and bullying from a Pakistani-American perspective - received over $15,000 in production funding through the InPathways Cohort Program with Free Spirit Media, and will be screening this summer at the Dubai World Trade Center.
Amber has contributed to a wide range of high-profile productions and events for organizations such as NBCUniversal, Showtime, PBS, REI, Social Works (Chance the Rapper’s nonprofit), Duke University, Southern Illinois University, and Full Spectrum Features. Her production experience spans feature films, TV series, documentaries, commercials, web series, live events, podcasts, and international film festivals—including the Jubilee Arts International Film Festival in Lisbon and the Chicago Underground Film Festival.
Most recently, she led the inaugural year of the Chicago Industry Exchange Lab as Program Manager for the Chicago International Film Festival, and served as Administrative Manager for Mezcla Media Collective, a nonprofit supporting women and non-binary filmmakers of color.
In addition to her work in film and photography, Amber has a strong background in marketing. She recently worked as a Podcast Producer for Executive Help Now!, where she technical directs live recordings, manages guest communications, creates show assets, designs promotional graphics, edits episodes, and oversees distribution across multiple marketing channels.
She currently works as a Cinematographer and Creative Video Producer for an R1 University; she writes, directs, produces, films, photographs, and edits television advertisements,
social media content, and marketing materials for the University
Communications and Marketing Team.  Most recently, she 
won a Gold ADDY (American Advertising Federation of Southern Illinois) for TV
Ad for the “Say Yes to SIU” campaign; wrote, directed, edited, and performed voiceover for the ad; aired on ESPN and other national channels; as well as had her photography on a regional billboard.
Amber’s mission is to create visually impactful stories that amplify underrepresented voices - particularly women, South Asian, and Muslim communities - with the goal of fostering empathy, cultural understanding, and meaningful social change through art.
